    Default Fort de Soto

Will be in Florida here in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone had been to Fort de Soto since the Tropical Storm. I have read on Facebook that the storm has not only impacted wildlife but also the landscape. Just wondering if the wildlife has somewhat recovered/returned since the impact from the storm a few weeks back. Is it worth a two hour drive day trip to the location?

At this time, I would say it is not worth the drive. My friend drove 1-1/2 hrs there yesterday only to find that North Beach was closed b/c the thunderstorm we had was so bad.

This time of the year can be hit or miss we do have shore birds migrating through the west coast so it can be dead one day and amazing the next plus tides really effect the activity when dealing with Ft Desoto and other beaches and lagoons on the west coast.
