    Hi Yves. Welcome :)

    I like the "footprints" on the water in this image. There are a number of ways that this one could be improved IMHO. The main thing is that I think for this type of image you need to have the bird traveling parallel to the camera. Some less contrasty light would also be beneficial and in terms of composition - because the water splashes are such a part of the image I think that you can crop a fair bit off of the right and still have a strong image.

    Glenn has made very valid points, better light and a side view could improve this a lot. And the splash will be almost as important as the bird in the image.

    The advice has been good. I do like the action as it shows the pattern of takeoff. One thing you might try is pano. It would certainly draw you in more to the action and perhaps think less about the light, etc.
