I could see this fella sitting in this tree from afar and I could not resist taking a closer look in the hopes of getting an image pretty much similar to this. He ate for a long time on that very "perch", offering neat eating behaviour opportunities. I had never seen a squirrel eat out of a fruit tree like this...I guess it was tired of seeds and nuts and opted for something a little sweeter:S3:

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/500s., f/5.6, ISO 800, FF, punched up the contrast and saturation (very dull day).

Delightful pose from this cute little squirrel, nested among perches with berries...The subjects' mouth is open, a berry in those little paws - can it get any better than this? Hi Daniel, saw this when you first posted, but wanted to comment, once back.

The environment is a killer, love the fact the actually berries shroud the subject and you have a clear line of vision, well scene & executed. If it was me, I would add a mid tone mask, it really punches up and IMHO creates a bit more tonal depth.
