Costa Rica bound!!! November 6-16... birding suggestions!

I'll be staying two nights in Arenal, two in Monte Verde, three in Manuel Antonio, and two in San Jose. Any 'must stop' places for birding?

Any good Costa Rica bird books?

Just north of Jaco and Manuel Antonio is the Rio Tarcoles. Doing a boat trip on the river, especially a private tour is wonderful. Been to Costa Rica 4X and the two 3 hr boat rides we did on the Tarcoles are definitely one of the top three highlights of our trips. Getting a guide at Monte Verde is a must! There is a book called "Birds of Costa Rica" I think that is the title.
