Birds/Bird photography close to Berlin?

I will be in Berlin for 3 months from 1st October.

I am interested in any close locations , tips etc that anyone can share.

I know about the Linum crane migration, but perhaps there is something more I should know about this.

You should also consider a visit to the Northsea, especially the island of Helgoland. Or, closer to Berlin, a famous place to photograph White-tailed Eagle in flight catching fish (http://www.ranger-tours.de/). The Cranes (> 10000) are now resting on the Darß. Couldn't find any English info though (http://www.fischland-darss-zingst.ne...eobachtung.php).
