This file was from a couple years ago at the famous Red Rocks park in Morrison, CO.

Got pretty close to this Woodhouse's Scrub Jay. Portraits are always subjective but I liked the details here.

LR and PS. Didn't feel comfortable cropping more, but likely could have.

A fine portrait, detail, color, lighting and BG all great plus the calling pose.
Just a couple of odd bits to clean up, two parallel lines mid way up the RHS, and a bit sticking out the back of the head.

Very nice Brian. Great colours on the bird and you show them perfectly. I really like the feather detail. The BG colour shows the bird well. Good HA and the open bill adds. Seen a couple of concerts on TV from Red Rocks, especially liked the early U2 one there.

It is absolutely a world-class venue. We try to get there at least 1x per year for a concert as it's only a 10 minute drive from home. I hope you see it one day...

Hi amigo ... quite late with my comment , hope you will still recognize it

A gorgeous portrait with killer feather details , lovely contrasting BG ... great to see a slight variation in the BG , otherwise it would look too boring IMHO .
Love the colors and the tonal range is cool .
Personally not too excited about the comp/ crop .... I would go classical vertical or go in tighter keeping the ratio as is

Overall I would up the exp. if this was mine

    Gorgeous IQ

Fantastic details, and those blues are gorgeous! Looks like there is room for a nice peanut in the bill, if these guys are like Blue Jays they love them. Nice to have great spots close to home - I have one or two also and they are quite handy to visit :-)
