Shot taken back in 2019 at the Luangwa river in Zambia
I invested a lot more time than normal to remove two sticks that bothered me , one was crossing the tail feathers and the other one on the top . The twig on RHS was shortened in post

Processed with DT 4.8.1 and PSCC 2024 ; cropped and added canvas to the LHS and top of the frame ; two twigs removed

Andreas, these colors.... wowie!! Yummy....

Feather detail and delicate sharpening noted. So sweet.

Slightly unfortunate most of the subject being in the darker side (sidelit it seems) but you processed through it well.

The perch is not the most favorable and the nub is slightly annoying from here. Also, tough to crop this one with the tail being so close to the edge.

You processed it about as good as I can imagine one doing so props on that (means congrats in the US :-) )!

Yeah not the best lighting and the perch is as it is .... but as you might know , no other option possible due to the location .
As said the original shot is way worse ... LOL . But I liked the firework colors in this species .
As this is not taken at my doorstep , I have to live with the obvious shortcomings .... nevertheless worth posting , well for me , others might disagree

Wonderful image, good PP to not see any residue of the work done. For me the image works just fine!

We never get these guys in South Africa, as we tend to travel there during winter when they aren't around :(

We don't see them, Andreas, because I believe they are around during the summer months, and we tend to prefer going in the dead of winter. Maybe I am mistaken?
