The sun was setting behind a few clouds which gave me the diffused light. Another older image I found that wasn't processed.

Wonderful feather detail to go with the soft light. Great pose, head turn, and BKGR. I only wish that the lower part of the perch was simpler.

Lovely framing on the bird, I like the little tilt to the head. Colours look a bit dull, but in my defence, I've never seen one of these in real life, so it could be perfectly natural and accurate

Nice soft light compliments the tone and color of the bird. Love the beak and feather detail well done

Really like that raised crest. The framing is nice. Great background.

Kurt, your shots on desert perches are uncanny. It has been a real treat viewing the past few weeks.

The female is grossly overshadowed by her male counterpart, as is with most species, but you really dolled her up here. Much better sharpness and detail and I love how her tail pieces together nicely with the perch.

This does feel a touch flat to me. I might bump luminosity a touch and see how a bit more contrast in the mids works. In hindsight, you could have traded a step or two of SS and brightened a tad. Esp in comparison with many of your well-lit frames.

    Hope you're feeling better!

How much did you pay for that pose?! So sweet - and the unassuming bkg adds. I'd remove the single strand of feather that caught some light off the tail. Otherwise - yummy.
