Hi friends! It's with great excitement that the BPN Wildlife Mods announce a new development in the forum: MONTHLY THEMES!
The purpose of these themes will be to: 1. foster a sense of fun and purposeful posting of images (get you to think about what you want to upload)
2. help show people what to look for in a specific genre of image
3. encourage possible lurkers to start contributing and being part of our great community
It will be non-compulsory, meaning you can still post ANY image you want, but images fitting the theme need to be posted by adding the Prefix "Theme" from the drop-down list top left when posting a new thread. Theme images will still be subject to full critique like any other image, so keep the quality high!
February's kickoff theme: MY LOCAL WILDLIFE
Post any wild mammals, reptiles and amphibians you encounter in your backyard, at your local duck pond or rookery, in your local parks or on the roadside as you travel/commute.
We will announce the new theme at the end of each calendar month. All theme images are eligible for IOTW and IOTY if posted by a paying member of BPN.
Theme titles will then look like this: Theme: A red squirrel
We can't wait to see what you come up with! Happy sharing...

I rarely post in Wildlife but did see an uncertainty in the instructions. With the comment "...and also with the theme of the month added before your post title" wouldn't the example title be, Local Wildlife: A red squirrel ??
Thanks Diane, all a poster has to do is use the prefix "Theme" in their image title for us to know it is a theme image. The date posted will indicate for which theme because our themes are running for the calendar month.
