I liked the small crab eggs on the beach and wanted to highlight them.
I added the find edges filter in photoshop and masked back in some color. I liked the high-key look.

Adorable. Beautiful colors. Love the simplicity.
Thank you Anita.:)
Denise, I like the high key effect and his pose:) I think the color in the eggs is a nice touch.

Nice bird and pose, rocks in front with color add to it..nice high key image. My only wish was to see the sandpipers tail...but thats just me...
Cheryl and Paul, Thank you both for commenting. Much appreciated.
Paul, Those are horseshoe crab eggs not rocks:)
How you can make something so simple and beautiful out of a relatively cluttered and ugly scene is beyond me. Are those more crab eggs on the raised foot? BTW, I love the raised foot and I even love the shadow. You have made soup from a stone with this one.

Denise another great picture captured the moment and made it simple and beautiful
Really beautiful! I love the high-key look and the "just right" amount of color. Great job!

Artie, Myer and Kerry thank you all for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated.
Artie, It's foot is caked w/ sand.
Love the foot. I also like the high key effect.
Nice image and application, Denise.
Too bad the DOF was limited in the area of the legs. :( But nice.
Denise. I love this! It is your classic style. The eggs look great and I love the shadow. Did the bird sample the eggs? I would think that would be a treat.
Thanks folks, I appreciate the comments.
Patti, I was trying to get the bird w/ an egg in it's mouth but that didn't happen for me.:)
Patti, Not only do the birds sample the eggs, they depend on them and gorge on them. The Red Knots double their weight in ten days by eating the eggs. They lay on sufficient fat to fly to their nesting grounds above the Arctic circle, to begin nesting, and to survive for at least a week or two in the likely event of snow and ice....

Very lovely image, Denise. The pose and high key look are just perfect. :)
Thanks Christopher, I started wondering where you've been.:)
Artie, Thank you for providing that info. It is very interesting.
YAW. There is a great book called Flight of the Red Knot (I think...) by my friend Brian Harrington. It was however, written when that species was doing well.
There is however, some good news. At one point recently they were say that the population level (in North America, I think), was down 90% from 100,00 Red Knots to 10,000. But this year they have accounted for 50,000 so either they were missing some (likely...) or the species is making a miraculous recovery (likely true in part). Good to know:)
Hi denise, What's so neat about this image for me, is that even without knowing what type of bird or what the small spheres are, the two are so nicely linked by your high key effect. Wonderfully done!
Thanks Steve, Much appreciated.:)
Wow..this is fantastic. Simple, artistic and pleasing for the eyes. Hats off.
