RWBB Red Winged Blackbird, sorry for the title.
A final look at this half male, half female Blackbird.
I took this morning in overcast, softer light than the others.

Your getting some nice flight shots of this unique bird. Nice and sharp with a good pose and nice background.

Really nice flight shot Dan! Are you using the 300 PF? If so, that's a really lightweight BIF combo! How do you like it?

    Thanks, Doug
    I appreciate the compliment..
No, the is 300 f2.8, the heavy one.. but with the D500, it is
really good at BIF even with extenders. It just locks with the D500 Af group.
Blackbirds are not that hard, they fly fast but they are very predictable in flight
if you spend time watching a male defend his little swamp territory.

Yeah, you really nailed this guy! Face and beak look really sharp! Perfect eye contact took. This is such an interesting plumage. I'd love to see what you can do with better light (i.e. more DOF and lower ISO).

Not buying the "not so hard story." For me, this is an outstanding astounding image. I have never seen a young male looking like this. The wing position is A+ and the sharpness is fabulous.

    Ditto all the positive comments.
I am the only to mention this but I see a magenta cast in the blacks- especially the far wing. Easy fix in PP by going to selective color and reducing the magenta in the blacks.
