Sweet light Ray, and a great low shooting angle as well as the perfect bird angle.

    Ray:

Very nice. As mentioned, excellent shooting angle, bird angle, lovely light.
A very subtle bird re: coloration, but the soft light allowed the texture and fine details to show nicely, adding to the quality of the image.

Were you on the shore? Lying down?

    Cheers

Great light indeed Ray, POV, and happy to see you included the full reflection as it works here.

Sweet. Colors and light are wonderful; pose and HA likewise. Nice detail. I find these guys tough to get; they're always diving and re-surfacing out of range. I guess hunkering down and waiting an hour for the sun is the secret. Nicely done.

Yes there was just a tiny bit of ground that raises above the water where I could lyed down flat, they got curious and this one stayed there across from me for a good 2-3 minutes

    This is nice,
I photograph them a lot and I think you did well.
Aside from the fantastic BG, the Grebe seems a bit washed out. The beak should be a bit brighter.
    Excellent POV.

Gorgeous shot, these guys are pretty high on my list to get a good shot of. I hope I can get one in light halfway as nice as this, great job Ray.

Killer everything: low angle and spectacular BKGR color. I would not mind a bit more room at the bottom.
