Nicely focussed this time - I love that log (he/she too)! Well done!

Nice lighting and good job on the focus. I like the perch which has good separation from the background. I am not a fan of the pose I would of like to have the owl facing towards the viewer a little more so you could see both wings(not that its in our control). Good work.

Agree with all said. Good shot. And I like the background colors. They complement the owl very well.

What a cutie!! Great detail and sharpness, and wonderful color! I wish the face was not against the cactus branch, though, as the profile gets lost against it with the colors the same. Were you in burst mode and maybe have another frame a split-second earlier or later?

That is one beautiful bird, well captured with amazing sharpness. I searched for something to add as a critique, and only because of that, I'll write that I think the crop at the top is a bit tight.

Is the perch a cactus skeleton?

    Thanks for the critiques!

Yes, Jim, it's a cactus skeleton.

Cholla? I'll bet the woodpeckers love it! (Or is there an acorn within 100 miles?)
