Good mate of mine gave me the opportunity to photograph his Squirrels, first attempt at this so I hope I have got something right.

Hey Keith, couldn't put what I was going to put, but this really knocked me sideways, fantastic, outstanding, bloody marvellous!!!! The best image you have ever taken & processed IMHO, a real contender for some awards this year. Having seen Edwins and my friend Neil's Mc leaping squirrels this is well up there with the best. Either crop or clone the white blob bottom left. Doesn't get any better Keith, would gladly have this in my files any day.

Hi Keith not sure if i want to go as wild as Steve did with his comment , and that happens quite seldom.
But i think this is very good in all important parts . So congrats on your great work , specially in the field . I think PP work is not as tough as capturing this.

    Well done . TFS Andreas

    Ha ha, well done Keith!

I think Steve has said it all! Not only is it an excellent photo, it's also extremely cute! I love the hair-do - did you comb it first?

Cute, very cute, deliciously cute, up-in-the-air cute, okay it's bloody marvellous but Steve said it already so let me say that I will remember this as "pic of the week" or "pic of the month"! Great IQ and stunning colours, please take out the white blob, absolutely love this leap into the air shot, congratulations Keith!!!

    Warmest regards,

Keith, with the removal it's perfect, just check your LCD next time, or be aware and take action to resolve it before shooting.
I really do think this is a good contender for the BWA this year, go for it, but crop don't clone. Awards are far tougher now compared to years gone bye.

Exquisite lighting, action, and detail in the fur that the 300 2.8 can deliver, I loved that lens and miss mine at times.
    Very nice indeed.

Whoa! This can't be an easy capture, that's for sure!

I'd say it could only get better if the landing spot were showing. Not much else to do here!

Miguel it certainly was not easy, it's the first time I have used my lens on manual after prefocusing on the spot where I expected the Squirrel to jump, this is taking me into a whole new world and of course I got a lot of failures , prior to this I always use auto focus mainly due to my poor eyesight.
    Thanks to everyone really appreciated.

A magnificent shot Keith, one of the best squirrel images I have seen. Super sharp and terrific action. A great composition.
