    Default Beached Tree Swallow

Returning from a rather long hike I came across a flock of Swallows resting on the surf's edge, of course they scattered as I approached, but one bird remained. I thought at first it must be injured but after several minutes of creeping up on it, appeared it was simply pooping. Like the sand and feather detail, color also seemed nice. Comments welcome. About ten percent cropped out. D300, 80-200, ISO 400, f 11, 1/1000 th. Removed one artifact.

Nice bird, great that it stayed for you. I like the clean sand, except for the poop part. I also would have preferred a better body and head angle. I know it's not always possible, but could you have gone down even lower? Having said this, you had a terrific opportunity and you did relatively well with good exposure and lots of nice details.

Daniel said it all as far as critique. Wonderful colorers showing on the bird because of the direct sunlight. Beautiful species. I might clone out the droppings under the tail.
