Nice shooting angle, excellent exposure control and nice pose. Maybe crop a bit tighter as there is a bit too much of the shore in the frame for my tatse.

    Frank:

I agree with Ofer's comments. Lovely bird, exposure, sharpness, but the rocky shore, although interesting, tends to compete with the bird for our attention.

    Cheers

I too believe a tighter crop would improve this. The exposure and detail captured is excellent. Very elegant pose.

Tack sharp, well exposed and great pose. Tigher crop made it even better.

I mostly like your original compostion. I'd take a bit off the bottom and a bit off the left. The shell under his tail would be evicted were this mine as it looks a bit like poop. (sorry!) Otherwise, I like the preening pose, nice exposure. I feel like your repost has the bird too centered.

I tend to agree with Grace, the crop has made the subject too central in the repost. While I can understand suggestions the rocky shore may compete with the bird....looking at it in a different way, I find the rocky shoreline compliments the bird by revealing a little of the natural environment...ih ...personal tastes I guess

Nice sharp and well exposed image Frank, the preening pose adds a feeling of grace and serenity.
