hahaha...it'll never get off the ground ! Love the pose, nice natural perch that doesn't compete with the bird { that's if we can be sure this is indeed actually a bird hehehe } My only thought is the head/eyes are not quite sharp enough, and maybe an overall tweak with sharpening would be good, there is some great fine detail showing in the breast feathers but again just a tad more sharpen....kudos on a great moment captured

    William,

Phil provides good comments, the detail in the eye could be better and wish for a bit of flash on the body but must confess -- I love It!!
Very original and it tells a story - great capture William,..f/8 and be there - well done.

How did you get this close, the adults will not let me within 100 feet!!

A fun image William. Agree with Phil and Jeff's comments. It looks like there may be a bit more detail in the shadows. Try a selection of the under exposed areas and apply a curves adjustment.

This is a unique and fun photo. Agree that a little more sharpness would be good but that might be the result of the shutter speed. If he was shaking you probably needed more speed.

Hi Bill, I hope this cormie has a better fate than Kenny usually has... Head could be a little sharper for sure, but I love the shiny wet feet and the barnacle shells on the rock. Good one in my book!

Appreciate the comments! The head could use a bit of selective sharpening for sure. I'm not sure about what shadows Gary is referring to. I had a relatively slow SS on purpose, since the bird was actually flapping its wings which I wanted to show as a blur, and here was the "back-stroke" . Kerry; it would have been quite a story if a shark jumped out of the water a grabbed the bird, and I could yell "Dammit, the shark killed Kenny!" Of course not everyone watches South Park anyway. Jeff; at the Texas City Dike it is possible to use your vehicle as a mobile blind, and ease much closer to the birds than would be possible on foot . regards~Bill
