    Default Black&White Warbler

This beautiful species made a very brief appearence in Galveston a few weeks ago. In and out very quickly. If I had the time I would have liked to stop down some more to get some DOF on the tail end , but it didn't stick around long enough for that to happen. Stiil very happy to get what I did as this is one of my favorite warblers.

    Joe:

Attractive fellow, well exposed with just a few bright spots in the whites, love the delicate feet.

I would consider using a low opacity clone stamp to ease the large white arc on the right side of the bird.

Yes, a little more dof would be nice, but not easy to get with this much lens at close working distance. Sharp where it has to be.

    Cheers

Hey Joe. Nice look at this guy. I agree with Randy on the few hot spots in the cheek, throat and upper chest. The perch may be too large for some here but it's fine with me. The head is sharp and a nice HA too.

A bird I would love to have. Would have preferred a smaller perch. A nice little detail is how the toe on his left foot is hanging on to the branch. The green sets him off nicely.

Hi Joe, I like angled pose, together with the mixture of whites and blacks. I agree with Randy that blending in the white circle in the BG wont harm the image.

Me too would love to have this bird in my files. Little more dog would have been nicer but I am fine with what you have here.
I would have liked little more room on the left. In any case, I am jealous that you got this :).

Nice job! We had one of these guys up here briefly, but I could never get him out of the shadows to get a decent image. I like the perch, but agree that some work on the circle behind him would help.

Sometimes = quite often...one has to take what one can get in the fleeting moments of opportunity with birding and this one has worked out quite well. A few improvements to be had as mentioned, but overall it's a keeper shot. Nicely isolated from the background and pose is great, that's one sweet looking bird
