    Default Least tern couple

The male of this pair was clueless. She kept presenting herself to him and he just could not figure out what to do next. Seemed more interested in begging for fish that others were bringing to their mates. She eventually gave up and flew off, perhaps to find a more experienced mate.

Another beautiful tern image, Grace. I like the layered BG. Whites and blacks handled very nicely. And great story line.

Grace - funny story and beautiful image in nice light. Comp works well and the creamy bg is great.

    Hi Grace,
Nice light and BG, the birds definition are great. Too bad the male didn't "do it" ;)

The layered BG does it for me, a very pleasing image. You must have had the tripod really low as it looks like the lens was on the ground.

Poor guy. I remember those days from my early teens. Love the image. The BG sets it off well and although the light seems a bit brighter then you generally shoot in , you handled it very well.

Just beautiful, Grace. Great depth of field, and excellent image quality as usual. I really like your choice of comp, long and narrow was the way to go. And nice work with that 2x!

Excellent DOF. You got both sharp in the frame.
Great catch light and low POV.Whites look awesome
I have a newly found appreciation for the difficulty in getting a nice eye on these birds.
I like the pebbles they are resting on.
    A very nice image,
    Gail

Love the super low angle, light and poses that go very well with the story. I like the comp too. Well done.

Hi Grace, love your introduction. Good low perspective, and you have nailed the exposure nicely on both Terns. Both sharp, the eyes stand out nicely against the darker plumage on the their heads, and maybe just a touch more space on the left.
