Well, it was Father's day weekend when I took this pic.

Sweet. Love the adoring look-back pose of mom. The tough lighting conditions actually seemed to work to your advantage in bringing out details of junior, and turned the bills to neon for an interesting look.

Mitch - nice low pov and a fitting family grouping for Father's Day. Slight halo along the top of dad.

Great behavior you capture here, like the low angle and colors, maybe a little over sharpen.

Very sweet intimate shot. I think a little wider view would look nice.

Low angle is a plus for this one. Light seems harsh and image might be a bit over-sharpened.

Lovely scene. Love the way Mom is looking back at the chick. Excellent look at the chick as well.
Too bad the light is so harsh but I do like the glow the light created within the bills.
I find the reflections in the eye very distracting and would do a bit of eye work.

Nice tender moment... like it. Low angle makes this image. Agree about the tough lighting conditions, little fill flash may have worked in this situation.

Cute chick, tender moment. Bad light compounded by poor light angle and mega-over-sharpening esp. the top of the left bird's head. Yes to the weird eyes....

Yes, extended fill flash would have saved this (wish I had had it...)

    Thanks for your comment.

    Gail,

Thank you for your thoughtful comments. The strong backlighting led me to over process this image. I wanted to brighten the shadows, and maintain separation with the sand. Black Skimmer eyes are so dark they are almost invisible even in good light. I tried to lighten and add contrast so they would stand out. I went too far in both adjustments. I have to go back and see if I can pull something better out of this one as I like the interaction.

Wish I had been able to go back later in the afternoon when the light would have been better, but it just wasn't possible.

    Thanks again.

    M.
