Never really tried a scape like this before. Light was from the wrong angle but with some careful PP and I like the result....Crits appreciated![]()

Hi Dumay, Beautiful classic African scene. Very well processed, it all works for me!

Hi Dumay,
like the scene you captured ,nice processing with colors i like very much. You should try to photograph more scapes with animals.!!
I think the image has even more potential in terms of contrast in the sky ,you can bring out the clouds a bit more i think could look even better.I do not know if it could be possible to lighten the eye a tad.
Cheers Andreas
Looks well processed, would be interested to see the raw file.
Good DOF of field to stop the giraffe looking cut in two.
Hi Dumay,
I like the detail and comp of your image. The thin clouds add to the depth of the image.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes,
Mark.
A lovely scene bud. You should 'scape' more
Very nicely processed too.
My first thoughts echo what Andreas pointed out - getting more out of the sky...
Which is what I did in this repost...perhaps a bit too much?
WDYT?
Hi Dumay, great to see you shooting wider and subject works well in frame. I think Morkel's RP addresses the issues raised, IQ is still there.

Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.
Thanks folks...Morkel, I like what you did. Wasn't sure what to do to bring out the clouds.
No worries, bud. I basically made a quick layer of the giraffe and FG and then worked on the BG layer (the original image) so that changes affected only the sky portion. I then ran Robert's multiplied highlights luminosity layer on the BG, set to 30-40% opacity. I also used burn and dodge to accentuate the clouds a bit more.
As with everything - to taste - play around a bit?
Dumay,
Great image capturing "Africa" perfectly
