I am in Veracruz; birding with one of the best ornithologists and bird guides of Mexico; Manuel Grosselet (www.tierradeaves.com). There is not much sun these days here, but rain and rain. Still, yesterday about half an hour before sunset the sun came out and gave use nice light. This little one was quietly responding to out brief audio we played for him.

A bird I have chased a few times in N. America and have yet to get a decent image. This is sweet. I would thing a vertical would be stronger.

Nice light, perch and bg. I'm wondering if a little more selective sharpening on the head would improve it. Alan's suggestion of vertical is also a good one.

Thank you for your comment, Alan. You are very welcome in Mexico with us. You will certainly have this bird any time of the year.

I kinda like the comp as is, but yes I could see it as a vertical too. Nice light and BG, but I find the OOF orange streak a bit strong. Sounds like you are having a great time...hoping to see more!!
