Default Burrowing Owl Flight With the New 600

Here's another 600mm f/4 II frame taken during my morning with the Burrowing Owls. I think the desert vegetation give the image that little something extra.

Another sweet shot with the new 600. The owl is lovely, but I agree that the vegetation makes the shot.

Another fine shot with your awesome new lens. I like the vegetation and the BG compliments the owl.

excellent Doug. love the pose and wing position.

100% crop looks great in terms of sharpness focus is right on the head but I am surprised how noisy the Lightroom output is. Good thing I don't use Adobe

Killer image of a very tough species, Doug. The vegetation does add a lot. TFS.

Vegetation adds to the image, sense of place and habitat. Nice detail in the shadow area of the underwing - far wing. Look forward to your review of this lens.

Love this, and agree the vegetation adds a little more interest to compensate for the very smooth...but bland backdrop. It to me tends to blend in a little too much with the background, and I presume this is part of it's natural camo coloration to blend in, but would a little more contrast to the bird only help it to stand out more distinctly from the background....just a passing thought

What is it with all these overseas Owls, I have not seen an Owl in daylight hours for many many years, but see so many Owl images on here in broad daylight...dont they have clocks over there ? hehehe

Hi Doug, good wing position, and I like the concentrated stare ahead from the owl. I like the complimentary colours of owl and BG. Im fine with the foliage below, but wish the left wing tip was not intersecting with part of the foliage.

I dont even have a perched owl in my files, and you post 2 in flight. Im sure you have many more from your pratise rounds with your new toy.

I like the vegetation in this one, it certainly gives a sence of habitat. I also find the repost/crop interesting enough. I gives an idea of how good combo the 5DIII and new 600 lens can make.
