    This is another photo from my recent trip to Scotland. Terrific birds and I hope I've done it justice in my photography and post processing. Any comments welcomed.

    Canon 7D, 100-400mm, f6.3, ISO1250, 1/1000 - processed in Lightroom 4 and PS

    The bird looks excellent, nice and sharp. I like the rocks covered in kelp or whatever that is. The bg water just seems too bright to me.

    Thanks Jack. Looking at it again, you may be right about the background being over bright. I'll have an attempt and reducing the brightness but really not sure on the best approach. Any tips?

    I've taken on board the comments and ran a curves adjustment on the background water to darken it. I hope the repost works better.

    Repost better. If only the bird had stood atop the highest rock. Lovely breeding plumage and a perfect specimen. A bit more sharpening of the face would not hurt.
