From my recent workshop at Nickerson Beach in Long Island NY. These two terns were going at it. It appeared as thought they were fighting over air-space. It was fun to watch and photograph. I added Fractalius to the pair.

Denise, I love the action and high key look to this one. The slight amount of color is nice too

Very nice action, Denise. I love the filtering and high key look. I think if you could bring out a little more detail in the eyes, it would be perfect

Denise, your image shows the flip side of Fractalius that is all to often ignored...that subtle, almost pastel colored pencil result that is rendered so beautifully here. Maureen makes a good point about the eyes...if they can be "recovered" without moving away from that sketched quality you've achieved. I might tighten it up a bit..a sliver from the top, a sliver from the bottom...to give more of a pano effect...but that's just me and my eye. Strong image eitehr way.

Nice capture and composition, Denise. Like the simplicity and the soft pen & ink / watercolor feel to this. Very nice filtering, and agree with bringing out eye detail if possible.

Denise, I love the interaction between the two birds, their poses and the fract work is perfect. Up at the cottage we have Caspian Terns that are fun to watch as they fold their wings and do their pelican-like dive into the lake when they are fishing.
