    Does this work? 1d MK 4, 500mm + 1.4TC on tripod, 1/13 @ 5.6, 800 ISO, EV +1 1/3.

    Thanks Tom

The background colors and textures are gorgeous...I find myself wanting to see a little more detail out of the moorhen, but that's just me...well composed, the pastel colors and curved lines that draw your eye through the image are, IMHO, the strength of the photograph...maybe if you evicted the strong white blur at the left edge of the image it would be stronger..my eye is consistently drawn there...and it might help with the rest of the moorhen as it would then become a more subtle focal point in the photo. Just thinking out loud.

Tom, I too love the background. The flow and colors are lovely but I find myself looking for a bit more of an outline of a bird or some more details.

Tom, blurs are my favorite! I love the background but like John and Denise, I wish there were just a little more definition to the moorhen.

All very experimental at the moment - my first instinct was to delete the file. Thanks for the comments.

Hi Tom, ditto the comments above. You are on the right track with the blurs...can't wait to see more.
