    Default River tern in flight

    1/2500, f6.3, iso 800, manual, handheld

This is from December last year from Pune, India.
The bg should have been green (a mountain slope), but there was thick fog that morning.
It was cool to get this guy as he emerged from the fog into the light (although I wish I had the green bg).
    Small crop for comp.

    All comments appreciated.
    Thanks.

This is very well done and I like the BG just like it is. The bird is very graceful looking and sharp. The exposure is right on.

Excellent job on this Sidharth, exposure is perfect, I like the comp and the bird has good details and great blacks on the head, revealing the eye nicely. Well done.

Graceful bird well captured, Sidharth. I think the foggy BG works well making the image almost monochrome apart from the color of the bill and feet.

Hi Sid, love the flight pose with the extended far wing. Exposure spot on, sharp, and I like your overall comp.

    Sidharth:

Sharp, well exposed, nice angle in the frame, BG works for me.

This pose makes for a challenging comp. It seems like too much neg. space below to the right, but I don't think this wing position gives you much in the way of options.

I like the slightly open bill and catchlight.

    Cheers

    Thanks all. Appreciate the comments.
Satish, definitely, will get in touch the next time I'm there.
Yogesh, this was taken at Kavadi. Nice place - my first visit there. The scene at Pashan was really sad - it's nothing like it was until a few years ago.
