I went out today with the intention of shooting some Loons from my kayak, hopefully with hitchhiking chicks (Loon chicks, that is ), but got rained out. Some I went of to a small marsh instead, stayed in the car and only got the part of my lens sticking out the window wet. Managed to coax a Common Yellowthroat out of the thick Typha and brush along the shore using a bit of audio. He decided to sing for me.

Comments and critiques are much appreciated! Thanks for looking.
Lovely comp, light, pose and details, Bruce.
If anything, I'd get rid of that blade of grass (?) right between the bird's belly and the perch.
Nicely done.
Lovely and sharp and great singing pose. I agree that the vertical line of the leaf edge is a bit distracting - maybe just darkening down the bright edge would be enough.
Lovely image, sweet pose and so much fine detail... background adjustments seem to be done well, all looks quite good....agree regarding removing the leaf under the belly
Thank-you all for your comments. Dan, they don't really out like this around here either...this is shot through a fairly tight opening in the cover...the background to the right of the bird is actually foreground, and there was a good bit of shrub cover overhead as well. Sid, Tony, Phil, I did think about the Typha leaf underneath the belly, and actually did burn the edge a bit...it was substantially brighter in the RAW file. It's not a difficult thing to remove.
