Excellent setup with a great perch and a nice bg. Love the comp, the perfect DOF, and the look-back pose.
Only thing I can think of is removing the pin catchlight in the center of the eye. Great work.

Great set-up. Nice exposure , comp. and color as well as details. A winner all around. And I agree about the catchlight removal , for whatever it's worth.

What a lovely picture. You really do a good job on your set ups. They are very natural looking. I really like the pose and dof. I also would take out the one catch light.

Such nice looking birds. You got a nice detailed view of the wing and tail feathers and I really like the perch.

Terrific Jack, Great color and perch. I sort of like the pin catchlight!
It looks like the head could use a bit more sharpening.
    Nice in camera flash work.

Who ever said pop up flashes are no good ?..but yes agree about removing the pin light in the eye, sharp and a complimentary perch make this work very well. Good choiuce of aperture has kept hte bird and branch in good focus all round, very nicely done I think

Very nice setup Jack! Good sharp details, and excellent exposure...I love the little ferns all over the perch.

Hi Jack, perfect pose, and just love the blue's on this fellow. I like the diagonal perch, placement of the Jay, and your BG is sweet. With regards to the catchlight, I would probably largen it a touch.
