Your PP work was worth it.
I like the way you have composed the shot very much. I would never have thought to crop the tail feathers the way you did.
I like the moss as well.

Richard, what a difficult composition and you executed it well. I too like the moss, but the bright patch, lower left corner, could be toned down to keep the eye from drifting. Certainly a terrific image to have in your collection.

It's easy to see why this bird is called resplendent, and you've captured and composed it beautifully. I like the sweeping curve of the tail to the left. My only suggestion would be to tone down the moss slightly.

Great bird to have. The colours are beutiful. The light looks a bit harsh but I guess it was not in your control.

Beautiful bird with stunning colours, and you've captured it well here, composition is great, with good detail troughout the bird...other than toning down the moss LL, I would take a stab at cloning or APTATing out the bright spots to the left and above the bird's head.

    Thanks

yes light was very harsh coming full on from the left as the sun rose it burns white off the moss and leaves.
should have mved left but lol theres a significant drop off there again. I will follow these good suggestions.
I hope to get back to these birds in the not too distant future
