    Default Black Skimmer in flight

I was visiting NYC past weekend for other work and decided to carry my gear along just in case I got an opportunity.
Luckily, I was able to visit Nickerson beach for about 30-45 minutes. What a great place for Skimmers and Oystercatchers!
Lots of opportunities at this location; unfortunately light was very flat and I wish I had more time.
Would definitely love to visit this place again.

    Canon 1D4, 700mm
    1/2000, f6.3, iso 800, manual, hand-held
    Small crop for comp.

    All comments appreciated.
    Thanks.

Very nice classic Skimmer in flight, with good comp, excellent light allowing for good whites with some detail in the blacks, stands out nicely from the smooth BG.

Nothing not to like about this one, extra good all round and especially like the detail on that unique beak

Looks great! Exposure, sharpness, pose, BG. You even have a bit of breeding plumage yellow wash under the wing and flank. I only wish for a bit more room at right, but certainly fine as is.

Hi Sid, great diagonal flight pose, and captured in soft light. Overall well exposed, especially the blacks, as the eye stands out nicely. The underwing detail shows up well, and I like the two tone BG too. Well captured.
