nice to get one with fish, the whites are blown and the light was too harsh here.

Fish, flying droplets and head angle are nice, but agree with Arash on the light being too harsh. If possible, I'd have left more space for the "virtual legs".

I agree with Arash and Sidharth re the poor light quality, and the loss of detail in the overexposed whites. I appreciate that you're trying to show the fish and the water drops with feeding behaviour, but the image would have a better feel if you would have left more room at the bottom for those long virtual Egret legs. Unfortunately the background is also distracting because of the many highlights. If you get another chance dial in a little bit of negative exposure compensation to keep the whites from blowing out, get a bit lower to the ground to avoid including as much of the distracting background if you can. In future you can make it easier for people to help if you post the techs (SS, aperture, etc), with the photo. Keep on trying!

Very touch and go to achieve good exposure on such white birds and the glistening water, I find the only time to get a decent image of these, and similar birds is early morning light when the sun is noit so harsh

Yes, the harsh light was not very friendly here. The background is somewhat distracting with the bits and pieces floating and reflecting. Good to have a prey item and splash, and you have a proper head angle.
