These lappet-faced vultures were two of many awaiting the permission of a black-backed jackal to enjoy the remains of a freshly killed bluewildebeest in the Kgalagadi Tranfrontier Park in South Africa... (the predator never returned, but we saw some BIG lion spoor the next morning) It was obvious that they were sorting out their hierarchy for the big feast...
