Western King bird in flight
Posting after a long time.
Not completely satisfied with the way it looks now. But I am sure the focus was locked well pretty close to the eye. Does this work for you?
C&C welcome , requested and appreciated. (The white border on some of the wing feathers is as is. I did not try to select the bird and make it pop out. I do not know why it looks the way it does. and I know there is some noise on the bird.)

Wow, Amol, great capture! Might try to lighten the body a bit more, though don't know if noise might become an issue for you there. I love being able to see each feather! You might also clone out the whitish spots (or missing feather parts?) in the tail, I find them a little distracting. But overall a really neat image.

Does the bird have a prey item in its bill?

Thanks Melissa. The Bird had some kind of lice infestation so the whitish spots in the tail are the holes in the feathers. And yes noise is an issue so this is what I stopped at.
Yes Art, Its a prey item; some kind of moth.

Amol, the feathers have come out really well. unique. nice sharpness as well. Slight head turn showing us the eye is what makes this work. I'd move the bird lower in the frame though. It can go a bit brighter..but pushing might bring in some noise.

You caught me KD, I realized that after posting. The bird is a little higer in the frame for my taste as well. Almost centered height wise. I will correct it.
Thanks for your input.

Sweet frame! Definitely looks better in the repost, save for the wing on the right.

Wonderful wing spread with nice light showing through the feathers, rework looks nicer { except for the right wing end } Although it was natural, I would be inclined to clone out the moth in it's beak, but optional personal choice i think

I agree, the repost looks much better. Thanks Art!
Thanks Doug!
Phil, I decided to let the moth be as I was trying to get the bird while it was catching it mid air ie with the moth ...that didn't work out well......
Plus I wanted to keep it natural.

YAW. Not sure how I screwed up the edge of what is actually the left wing as I checked over the selection carefully....
