Fabulous image with feel of jungle.Beautiful composition.Nice pose, perch, lovely light and great details in colors of bird. We do have colorful Trogons in India, however Seen this Slaty-tailed Trogon even in picture for the first time.

    Hi Richard,
Why such a low ISO? Amazingly sharp for this low SS!
The pose is excellent. Good environmental BG. The eye is really nice and clear.
Love the feathers details in the body but wonder if you can bring the detail out a bit more in the tail feathers.
The moss on the perch is lovely.
    Good shot,
    Gail

    Thanks Satish and Gail

ha funny you should mention the ISO I think I was being curious, the 7D loves making noise over 400
I 'll have a go at tail feathers...

sorry having some computer issues...typical lol

Also like the feathers detail, the sharpness is amazing for that speed, Did you have the IS turned on?
I would prefer a small HA toward us.

I Think the 100-400mm IS is first generation, it doesn't detect tripod...
