Female Osprey, from two weekends ago. One tiny area of brighter green was across the channel - only from this view.
Thanks to Dan Kearl for an enjoyable Sunday morning watching this pair of birds across the channel.

Full frame Canon Mk IV, Manual mode, 800mm + 1.4 III, ISO 1000, 1/1250, f8, no flash.
I'm not wild about the left hand wing position - but I do like the direct head angle turned directly towards me. What do you think?

Don, I have been waiting for one of these. The 800mm is perfect for this site.
I love the pose, the look, the IQ, excellent.

Great pose, great stare. Good choice of aperture to get everything sharp.

Although I can understand what you mean about the left wing's position (our right) I still think it is more than acceptable here. Dynamic pose and great "down the barrel" glance. Perfect amount of nest showing.

Great warning pose, seems that even at 800mm + you were too close for his liking, love the nest inclusion as well
