    Default Across Golden Pond

    Attached Images Attached Images

A male and female Giant Kingfisher were chasing each other across the water at Austin Roberts ( my local pond in Pretoria ) and I thought I would try and get one of them. This image doesnt give justice at how extremely fast they fly. This is the female, and Im happy with the result. Cropped to vertical. Taken early morning last weekend.

Truly beautiful, and one of tho most artful photos you've posted! I love everything about this. The colors are warm and magical, the bird is beautiful, and I like that vertical composition!

Quite an amazing shot. Great dorsal wingspread, terrific bg and sharpness. I've tried to catch our local Belted Kingfishers in flight and never succeeded in getting a sharp image -- they do fly very fast indeed. This is remarkable.

Nice to see a good action shot on this site then the usual boring portraits shots. I like the pose and sharp detail captured with good eye contact and the bg is to die for. A super IMG !!!!

I really like this one Stu, excellent work, it would have taken some considerable skill to get such good focus.
