    Default Swamp Sparrow

Taken a few weeks ago in a swamp (Yeah, you did not see that one coming) in mid-day, so light was quite harsh. I considered a vertical composition, but for a reason I cannot explain I just did not feel good about the angle of the perch. Although recently I have been trying to work on my composition and as a result, I have totally lost confidence in any composition I consider . Maybe a little bit more to the left?

With the lighting, the colors did not come out well to my taste and now I am wondering if I went a bit too hard on the contrast.

    Canon 60D, 100-400mm @ 400mm, f/5.6, 1/2000, ISO 250. Hand held, no flash.

Hi P-A. I think you did well with the light at hand. The angle of the perch works well for me and I like the crop. I wouldn't move him. Nice job getting him singing!

P-A., I think you did a really nice job with the situation. Nice color, detail, and pose. I like the composition but I think it would work as a vertical also. I like the extra space on the right for a bird this size. Nice background, good eye to see the opportunity. The lighting is a little contrasty, but not offensive.
