    I love how little birds will throw their heads back and sing with all their might. This is well captured and I like the BG. Looks good as a vertical with the fanning BG elements.

    Hi Bill, love the singing pose, and good to see the inside of the beak. I like the slightly curved perch, the sparrow is nice and sharp, and well placed in the frame too. The BG colour compliments the sparrow very well, although, if this were mine, I would darken it a little more.

    Lovely pose and interesting BG pattern.
    Agree with Stuarts comment on darkening this one a little.

    I think that is a great shot, love the pose and the inside of the mouth, he is really singing his little heart out. I would be curious to see the background darker but I must say I like it as is.

    By popular request, here's a repost with a darker BG. The darker I made it, the more dramatic it became, so this is with a 40 point reduction in brightness. Maybe I went too far, but I like it even if it's not the way I saw it in the field. What do you think?

    I agree a little darker would work, but for me the second image background does appear to be just a tad too dark compared to the bird.
