    Default Cheery little fellow

    Rufous Whistler/Pachycephala rufiventris { male }

    A reasonably common bird here, mostly in the more semi-arid rural areas, inquisitive bird and can often be drawn closer by the use of playback or other soft noises, this one came in the check me out while photographing tiny Wrens in the scrub about 300klms north of Adelaide S.A. Often quite a vocal bird with a distinctive voice, this one had a lot to chat about.

    Canon 7D + 500 L f4 + 1.4 X TC....f7.1, 1/1600, ISO 1600, + 0.7EV, no flash, partial metering, tripod mounted

    He is rather large in the frame but nice and sharp with a fine BG.

    Ha! Very entertaining calling pose...almost looks like it is listening for someting in the branch. Cute, nice colours, and shrp. Yes to it being large in the frame.
