    Took this shot the other day,the bird was squatting on rock,chilling,before it flew off to feed its young.cannon 500mm IS L USM,700MM FL,TRIPOD,ISO400,1/400S,F5.6,CROPPED AND SHARPENED.comments good or bad.

    I like the composition, the esposure and detailis very good, the habitat appears to be "typical". The grub/caterpillar enhances image interest. For me the only shortcoming is the one you have probably predicted, i.e. the feet are not visible, I fully appreciate it is often very difficult to get the feet in the frame, I have many similar images to yours.

    Don't mind the missing feet. Like the comp and detail and the pray item is a plus. I do find the perch a bit over-powering.

    Detail and light is all good, background blur extra nice, and the meal in the beak is the icing. Perhaps consider cropping a little harder from the bottom and right hand side to remove a bit more of the large branch

    Thankyou everybody,for your comments,Phil,the large branch is a rock,the image was taken in a quarry,disused,and I may try a bit more of a crop.thanks.

    Hi Chris, well placed in the frame, and I like the fluffy chest. Of course his catch adds interest, and what a great BG. I would maybe take a bit off the top and bottom.

    I like the bill full of food, and the rocky perch looks good...even so I would crop a bit more from bottom. I'm OK with the feet hidden as the bird looks nicely nestled in the dip. Very nice BG!
