    Default June theme - singing/calling (Black Headed Grosbeak)

    Here is an image of another favorite summer bird of mine, the Black Headed Grosbeak. Taken at Buttertubs Marsh here in Nanaimo B.C. a couple of weeks ago.

    Stats: Canon 1D Mark4, 500mm + 1.4X, F/8, 1/250 sec, ISO-400, Exposure Bias = +0.7

    That was a difficult setting to photograph in it seems. Very busy and tough light/light angle and dappled BG. I love the singing pose with the bulging throat. I never noticed that these guys had a yellow area on the belly, neat!

    Angle is a bit steep , but beyond your control. What you could control , you did very well. BG seems a bit bright , but to get the subject properly exposed I guess you had to do it this wasy. Nice job.
