A very elusive species. Waited a long time for it to perch in a somewhat favorable spot. They don't come out in the open to often. Wish I had better light , but the nature preserve where this was taken won't open early. Tried to compensate for the poor light with some fill. Also cropped to vertical for composition.

I love this species and the calls it makes...gotta go hunting for some soon!! The vertical crop works well, but I'd have preferred a better head angle and the absence of the OOF twig behind the subject and in front of the perch.

Cool specie indeed. Love the hint of habitat, bg and the diagonal perch. A little less head turn would've been great.

Like the vertical format. The bird's head doesn't look sharp to me, and it is angled away. I also find the perch quite bright. The green BG is great, and I don't mind the rest of the vegetation.
