    Super Starling (Lamprotornis superbus) , one of the most common bird I encountered in Kenya . This image was made at Ol Pajeta Conservatory, Kenya .

    Camera : Canon 1D MK III
    Lens : Canon 600mm f4 IS
    Aperture : f4
    Shutter : 1/160
    ISO : 200

    Beautiful colors on this species. That eye really stands out the most.

    colorful image,nice perch,the blu in the BG,goes with the blu breast feathers.

    Managed to see a few of these two years ago in Tanzania, but none this close. They certainly live up to their name

    Beautiful bird, nice background and vertical comp. Not so fond of the OOF branches at bottom. Either the SS is a typo for what looks like bright sunny conditions, or if it is right, don't be afraid to raise the ISO to help in that department...

    @ Daniel : The SS is indeed 1/160 . I was experimenting on different exposures , while shooting this particularly brave individual . This was overexposed to ensure that the BG would not come out dark , as it was in a bit of shadows and then brought down the exposure on the bird in PP .
