    Default Snowy Egrets

I figured I would post a few Snowy Egret shots as my first posting. Enjoy and feel free to leave me feedback...

Hi Kristofer, a big welcome to BPN, and a great place to learn and grow as a photographer. Lots of talented people to help you along the way.

As a general rule, only one image is permitted for critque, so cant really comment here on all three images, therefore I will comment on your first image. The light looks overcast which has helped with the exposure on the whites, although I do see a yellow cast. Good to see his catch in his bill, and the grasses in the water add interest. You are allowed to post 1024 wide, which makes viewing easier to crit.

    Kristofer:

Welcome to BPN! Good comments from Stuart. Be sure to include your camera/lens details, and any post processing of the images done.

I have included a link that lays out the guidelines for posting.

Thanks for the help fixing my first post. I now know the rules, sorry about missing the 1 post limit. Is linking it from flickr the easiest way? I had these on a file server.

Onto the Snowy. I shoot a Nikon D90 with a Tamron 200-500. It was quite overcast indeed. 1/640th, F/9, ISO 320, 440mm, Handheld sitting on a small pier.

I feel that I am horrible with PP. I converted raw in Nikon NX2 using my predefined "standard" with a little sharpening. I then just used windows 7 to adjust exposure and NR. I have tried many other software programs but I always feel my outcome is worse than the original picture.

    Kristofer,
welcome and a nice first post, the bird looks nice with the fish and the exposure is good .
I don't know what windows 7 is, NX2 is a really good program, it is all I use for all PP.
    Looking forward to more.
Links are not a good way to go, I and most people don't want to go there.
The best way is to join and upload through BPN. It is worth it.
