    Default Great Crested Grebe

    Attached Images Attached Images

As well as spending time with Little Owls ( see my last thread ), the Great Crested Grebes have occupied the rest of my spare time.

This day the lake was beautifully calm and still. That was until this Grebe started to call.

    Canon 1DMK4, 800mm, f6.3, 1/2500, ISO200

    C&C welcome.

    Cheers

    Austin

This is simply superb. The light, the calling pose, the BG, the low POV make this image a stunner.
I love the clear view of the inside cheek.

Awesome! Great calling pose for the theme and I like the water reflections on the breast, although I'd tone down the very bright patch near there...you may need the clone stamp at as lower opacity. Great low angle, and the darkish BG really works well.

This image is over the top as is to my eyes, esp with that calling pose. Love that low angle, and the BG & FG colors complement your subject so nicely. I would be in bliss lying flat on my bellow photographing this gorgeous creature day after day!!! Congratulations on this one.

    Austin:

    Superb image in all aspects.

Where you on the shore, in a hide, or perhaps a submarine?

    Wonderful.

    Cheers

Hi Austin, great low perspective, and you nailed the calling pose nicely. I really like the overall colours in this, together with your smooth BG. An opportunity well used.
