    Default Swallow (s)

Last week in terrible overcast light I spotted a swarm of swallows flying like mad in a swamp while hunting. I managed to get very close behind a line of bushes and hid there for 45 minutes with my 300/2.8Is, 1.4x, and 7d. They finally took a break, and settled on a bush very close... There wasn't enough light to get them in flight, but I managed to squeak off a keeper or two at iso 1600 & +1.7

Thanks in advance for looking and commenting.

    Charles

A rather harmonious looking pair...what species of Swallow ? The light is a slight disappointment, but acceptable in my opinion, I wonder if a slight tweak with mid tone contrast would lift this a little and a litle more noise reduction

Good juxtaposition with these two Tree Swallows. I know you were likely dealing with lots of distractions below the frame but I still wish these guys were higher in the frame. You could alternately crop from top if the IQ can hold up. A bit better HA on the near bird would have been good, and I'd run a round of NR to the background. These guys are lots of fun to watch in the air but I am glad you found them in a nice setting at rest.

    Hey Charles,
Daniel coverred my thoughts as to some of the distracting elements but you found them in some nice environs which I normally don't see.

Everyone, thanks so much for the compliments and especially the criticism.

Here is a reworked version of the image. I increased the midtones and gave the birds a little room in the back :D
