Spent yesterday morning on some rice fields just outside Bagamoyo, I approached the plovers slowly, they eventually took off and hovered against the wind. Pity about the light - 11:30 in the morning, but they were lifers for me and I will go back to be there before sunrise. All crits and comments welcome. Riaan

Hi Riaan, plovers arent easy to get in flight, as they are very erratic, so well done for getting this fellow in the frame. You havent posted your techs, but always try and shoot with a + compensation when shooting up into the sky - that way, you are exposing for the underwings. Every species is different, but one gets to know ones settings for the various species. Good to see the clouds in the sky. Cheers.

Would love to see your techs.
The light was not your friend here and I am looking forward to seeing some early morning shots!
As Stuart says, always EC by + 2/3 to whatever is necessary to get some detail in the underwing .

The harsh light is hurting this a bit. Killer species and nice sharp flight shot.
