    Default Grand Prismatic panorama

Another view of the Grand Prismatic Spring at Yellowstone NP... I wanted to get this view from the boardwalk and went for stitched panorama using three images. I then used transform/warp to reduce vignetting and geometric distortion. For processing, first used Topaz Adjust followed by Topaz Simplify. I used a mask to paint over selectively opening up the microbial colors. Hope you like it...

Nice job as usual Indranil, I love the colors. Being at Grand Prismatic is like being on another planet. I love using Topaz Simplify is does some very things when its used properly and appears you know how to use it. The stitching looks perfect. My only knit is that there appears to be some chromatic aberration along the top of the trees. ..TFS

The lines formed by the hills, the clouds, the mist, and the foreground elements all work together to guide the viewer's eyes around the image. That's really effective. Good use of Simplify, too.

If the image were mine, I'd apply Shadows/Highlights to subdue the whites in the lower half of the image and open the shadow in the lower right. I'd desaturate the blues and cyans some, as well.

Hi Nick, thanks for pointing out. I thought I had taken care of the aberration... apparently not I will fix it in the original.

Indranil, your re-post is incredible..this would make a wonderful print on canvas, done on a large scale. I need to get back to YNP...I worked there for two summers when I was in school, and need to return!

I like the image design and of course the colors. Is the CA a result of a selection?

Thank you Artie. I appreciate it! To check on CA, I went back to the original as well as the stitched image. It looks like Topaz simplify added just a bit then got worse with use of Edit/Transform/Warp. I probably should have tried the transform first before using simplify.

Thanks Indranil. Did you see today's blog post?

ps: selections get me in trouble all the time and I usually don't see the problems until I flatten and save the TIF :).
