    Default Hydrangeas

All of the flower images inspired me. I picked a hydrangea at a friend's house on Friday and took a variety of images. On this one I cropped, used Viveza, Topaz Simplify and then Fract. Sketch blended with Soft Light.
    Thanks for looking

OK, now I'm inspired. We have hydrangeas and there seems to be only so many ways to shoot them. I don't have frac (mac user) but I am inspired to try some macro as you have here. Well done. the only thing that catches my eye away from the picture as a whole is that large white petal in the lower center. Maybe a slight crop to about the middle of that one would lessen it's shout for attention????

Hi, Hazel, thanks for the input. This is a crop of a crop but I see what you're talking about and I don't think another crop will hurt Maybe 3 crops will do the trick.

Hazel, here's a quick re-crop. Is this what you had in mind?

Wow, Cheryl, I love your processing. Not "yo momma's hydrangea" for sure! The colors and fract effect rock!

Both versions are delightful. I like the close view, the riot of color, the wonderful shapes, and your use of Fractalius. Very nicely done.

This is fabulous! Great repetition of shapes and color shading. Crop 2 is my favorite.

Cheryl...you know you've done something wonderful when you can get me to like a picture of hydrangeas so much...I don't particularly care for the flower (much to my wife's chagrin!) but I love the image...for all of the reasons mentioned. Nicely seen and nicely processed...some strong work.
